Daybreakers is a phenomenal vampire sci/fi movie about what happens once the undead rule the world and their blood supply has run out. There are so many original ideas in this movie, from the harvesting of humans like cattle to the way in which vampirism is cured, and how that in itself could become a contagion of sorts.
We get to see how a vampire nation would function, another creative addition is how mutated vampires who don't feed on blood are treated, they become brainless monsters and there is almost holocaust imagery when we see them rounded up and brought into the sunlight in an act of genocide.
It also brings in great actors like Ethan Hawke, Willem Dafoe and Sam Neil who's performances add a real gravitas to the movie.
I have nothing but praise for this movie,
its great.
