30 Days Of Night

30 Days Of Night is an incredibly faithful adaptation of the comic by Steve Niles. Each scene is literally ripped from the pages of the graphic novel. The thing the film and the comic do really well is their portrayal of vampires, they're far from the sophisticated, and charming dark prince Dracula and are more like feral, sadistic monsters.

We only see fleeting glimpses of them behaving in a way that is anything close to human, in their brief interactions with one another but when they do communicate, their words are cold and emotionless, they come across like supremacists, bitter and hateful, seeing themselves as superior to the "plague" that is their human victims.

The winter setting is utilised to its full potential with one of the best scenes in the film and in fact any vampire film being the massacre when the vampires first attack leaving savaged gutted bodies in their wake, their blood staining the pure white snow.

Out of all the vampire films out there its one of the best
