Trunk: Locked In, the best thing i can say about this film is that it delivers on its name, yes the whole film is a person locked in a trunk. Now, that kind of isolated situational horror usually appeals to me, Its basically to Buried with Ryan Reynolds or the french film Oxygen, which I enjoyed quite a bit. I don't mind a simple straight up thriller focusing on one lead character in an impossible situation in an isolated place, there are plenty of good ones out there.
But Trunk: Locked In ain't one of them.
The filmmakers basically decided to make the most by the numbers , predictable, boring film out of what is already a very generic scenario, there is no flavor to it whatsoever, its bog standard, boring, and painfully average. The only decent thing i can say about it is that lead actress Sina Martens was doing everything she could with the blandest of material, she acted her arse off but it made no difference whatsoever.
Here's the thing, if you're going to take a premise I've seen thousands of times before you have to give me something new and unique or you have to do it extremely well, this did neither. Go watch Oxygen instead.
