The Jacket is a really good science fiction, time travel movie with a beautiful ending. The story follows a veteran, played by Adrian Brody who has been committed to an insane asylum, where he is receiving a strange and unusual treatment which sends him forward in time. It has everything you'd want from a time travel movie.
It also features the only performance from Keira Knightley that is an actual performance , she's pretty decent in this film and the love story between her character and Brody's is genuinely quite wholesome, even though I suspect some people might find it a bit off specifically because Brody first meets her when she is a child and then they become romantically involved when he travels into the future. But its the way its handled that makes it work.
I'm not justifying it, because yes, its weird, but then again
so is time travel. Context is super important for a narrative decision like this and in the context of the film it works.
