Green Room

Green Room directed by Jeremy Saulnier and starring Anton Yelchin and Patrick Stewart is an intense isolated neo-grindhouse thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

We follow a hardcore punk band who are down on their luck and in need of a gig, any gig, and so they take up an offer to play a club filled with neo-nazis. While at the club they witness one of the white supremacists murder a girl in the venues green room, now the nazi's cannot let them leave and they are trapped in a fight for survival. I fucking love this movie, it's dark, gritty , violent and a lot of fun.

Anton Yelchin and Patrick Stewart are particularly good in this, Patrick Stewart echoes Bryan Cranston's performance as Walter White when playing the pragmatic sociopath and neo-nazi leader Darcy, and Anton Yelchin gives the best performance of his sadly short career as the bands bass player Pat, it really is awful that he died at such a young age, he really was a talented actor.
It's perfectly paced and the action scenes are extremely gory and even when it goes in the realms of over the top insanity it still feels gritty and down to earth.

I cannot recommend this movie enough.
it is great.
