Longlegs is a mixed bag, I love the atmosphere and the overall narrative, however its dragged down by Nicholas Cage's performance, which ranged from completely absurd, mildly off-putting in the way that the film intended and then at times was down right laughable, to the films detriment. It is definitely not the great horror film that critics have been praising it to be for some reason, but there have been a lot of surprising takes from critics this year that i haven't agreed with.
It is a film which hinges entirely upon its ending, and the ending admittedly is particularly good. Perhaps on rewatch I'll get what people loved about it a bit more.
