Blade, remember when Black Panther came out and everyone went crazy because the media said it was the first black superhero movie, well it wasn't, that title belongs to Blade.
This film is part of the reason why major studios started to invest in comic book movies, it is both an excellent comic book movie and an excellent horror movie. The opening in the vampire nightclub is one of the most iconic vampire scenes in all of cinema and Wesley Snipes defined this role so much so that I don't see what Marvel could do with the character with a new lead actor taking his place.
The only flaws it has are really minor, there's a side character that I don't care for all that much, she's fine but some of her lines don't land and I think its because she's both a bad actress and paired up with the duo of Blade and Whistler (played perfectly by Kris Kristofferson) that her lack of acting ability stands out sometimes.
Everything else about this movie is great.
it delivers exactly what you'd want a Blade movie to give you,
it is a badass vampire action flick.
Blade II, am i the only one who didn't really care all that much for this sequel?. It is decent but I personally don't understand why the majority of people prefer it over the original, to me its an inferior film in every respect. Sure the creature designs are cool (what else do you expect from Del Toro) And I like the idea of Blade having to team up with the vampires to fight a greater threat, but I think everything this movie does the original does better.
I still enjoy the second film but I do think its the lesser of the two movies.
