The Asylum Blackout isn't a bad little movie, it's an isolated thriller set inside a mental hospital during a blackout and three cooks have to try to survive the night.
My biggest criticism with this film is that it didn't quite go as far as it needed to, if the main threat is the criminally insane you have to push the boat out as far as gore and horrific violent imagery goes and apart from one very unsettling scene, it isn't all that intense or frightening. It's like its holding back when it should be swinging for the fences.
All that said for a directors first movie its a pretty decent, albeit fairly unremarkable John carpenter inspired horror/thriller.
