There's a lot to like about The Wrath Of Becky, but it's not a superior film in any respect to the original. LuLu Wilson reprising her role as the titular psychopathic ball of rage that is Becky is as excellent and as iconic as she was last time. The film also follows the same pattern of having a comedic actor (Sean William Scott) in the lead villain role, who is serviceable but never really truly intimidating.
There are some odd choices in the narrative and a few editing choices that I didn't understand and that pulled me out of the film, but don't get the wrong idea it's a lot of fun but it doesn't quite capture that same magic that the first movie has, perhaps part of that is due to the change of director and writers for the film. Tonally its quite different to the original, it's more comedic and less violent, the former doesn't hurt the movie but the latter makes it a little disappointing.
The story is pretty straight forward, a group of what are essentially "Proud Boys" steal Becky's dog and kill her friend so she goes to find them and pay back blood for blood. I needed more from it, there's one glaring issue at the end which doesn't work but overall it's a fun movie, I'd recommend it but it's definitely an inferior film to the original.
