Soft and Quiet is a fairly realistic home invasion movie, because of the way its put together it feels like you're watching a crime occur in real time. Its core themes are the danger of radicalisation and how in a group of ideologically disturbed people all it takes is the influence of one person who is just that little bit more extreme than the others to push the behaviours of the group over the threshold of sanity.
It has a stand out performance from its lead Stephanie Estes,
and in general the entire cast is pretty good. It's a simple straight forward film thats best to watch with knowing a little as possible beforehand.
My only gripe with it would be that I feel it actually could have been longer and not quite as open ended,
but perhaps that was part of the point.
Its a decent film that I'd recommend watching if you enjoy short intense and dark thriller/dramas that have a message,
however if you're put off of films which depict racially motivated violence, this is definitely not one for you.
