Frontier(s)

Frontier(s) may not be as extreme as some of the films on this list but that said, past the fifteen minute mark it becomes an unrelenting grindhouse tribute to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The premise is extremely similar, a group of thieves escaping with the ill-gotten gains they acquired during a riot come across a bed & breakfast run by cannibalistic Nazis.

While many films have paid tribute and down right tried to rip off the Tobe Hooper classic, Frontier(s) may be the only one that truly captures the grimy and uncompromisingly horrific essence of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It is an unbelievably violent and bleak film and that's why i love it. I swear nearly every horror movie that came out during the new french extremity wave of the mid to late 2000's was excellent. French filmmakers during that period understood horror better than anyone else. No film pulled its punches and Frontier(s) is no different.

If you enjoy brutal, violent and bloody torture/revenge flicks
this one is for you.
