Nightbreed

How can a movie with such cool ideas be absolutely unforgivably terrible. Clive Barker's Nightbreed is so god damn awful that i had to stop watching because I felt I was wasting my life by continuing to suffer through it. I have no idea how this obtained cult classic status and came from the same person who brought us Hellraiser, it is pure unadulterated dogshit.

The acting is terrible, the creature effects, while unique are lackluster and cheap looking, the story is an incomprehensible mess and for a film which is as absurd and unusual as you can get, all of its characters are boring, the whole film is utterly boring.

So what's it about, it's about a man who is having nightmares of creatures that live in a cemetery, because he saw his family killed when he was a boy and he is trying to figure out what the hell is going on when his therapist, who is also a serial killer, uses him as a patsy and convinces him that he is in fact insane and has murdered fifteen people, resulting in him confessing his alleged crimes to the police and being killed in the cemetery, upon his death he enters the world of Midian, where a bunch of bland stupid monsters live and the rest i couldn't give a flying fuck about.

The biggest compliment i could give this film is that the idea isn't bad, you could easily make a fun 80's horror flick with that idea, but this film is so poorly put together than it isn't even fun, its just crap. The whole thing, everything about it is crap. don't watch this movie, go watch Hellraiser instead.
