Sound Of My voice

Sound Of My Voice is a really underrated low budget cult thriller,
two documentarians go undercover in a cult run by a woman who claims to be from the future, is she telling the truth or is it a giant con that will end in horrific consequences.

The film does a great job at showing you the induction processes involved in joining a cult. The ceremonies and stead fast beliefs grown through group think and brainwashing, if that is what is going on here. That however is for you to decide when you watch it.

The standout performance here comes from Brit Marling as cult leader Maggie, she is enigmatic, mysterious, and even intimidating in places. It's interesting to see a woman in this type of role when usually the leader would be a male, it helps to make you confused about Maggie's intentions, there is something so inherently honest and innocent about her but you're never quite sure as to if its genuine or a facade.

Christopher Denham and Nicole Vicius are also very good as the two investigators. Through them we get to see how different people would respond to a cults practices and indoctrination processes.

Its a very well made film and one I think you should check out.
