How did this film go under my radar for so long!,
What Josiah Saw is a phenomenal slow burn southern gothic epic, starring Nick Stahl , Robert Patrick , Mary Milner and Scott Haze and is directed by Vincent Grashaw.
I don't want to go into too much detail as to the plot as I went in blind and feel that really added to my experience and would recommend that you do the same.
It's a film that's told in chapters with each one focusing on a particular family member and their lives years after a traumatic childhood event has occurred which has served to divide each sibling like scattered pieces from a broken home.
If someone had told me that the script was based on a Stephen King story I would have believed them,
the acting from all of the main cast is what drives its twisted, disturbing narrative.
It has a foreboding sense of dread that hooks you through each chapter and everything is tied together perfectly at the end,
If you're a fan of Mike Flanagan or Stephen King this is for you.
It's the most underrated horror film that came out in 2021
and really deserves a wider audience than I imagine it received.
I highly recommend that you watch it.
