Forgotten (2017) the Korean psychological thriller directed by Hang-jun Jang is really , really good. South Korea dominates the thriller genre like no other country, every single Korean thriller I have seen has been excellent.
The film opens with Jin-seok and his family moving into their new home, their idilic life is suddenly cut short when Jin-seok's older brother is beaten and abducted in front of him, only to return home nineteen days later with no memory of the event.
Upon his return Jin-seok innately feels that something has changed about him and that he is not the same person who disappeared nearly a month earlier.
What unravels is a fast paced and brilliantly executed paranoia inducing ride, leaving you questioning if we are watching the story through the eyes of an unreliable narrator or if the events which Jin-seok sees unfolding before him are indeed real.
You may think I have given away integral details of the plot
but I can assure you that's not the case.
If you like psychological thrillers Forgotten is definitely worth your time.
