The Wolf Of Snow Hollow

The Wolf Of Snow Hollow directed by and starring Jim Cummings as officer John Marshall is a great werewolf film, in fact, it's so good that its probably my third favourite werewolf movie I've seen, the other two being the terrific Ginger Snaps and Dog Soldiers. Though it has the typical tropes you can expect and want from the sub-genre, (mystery over the identity of the werewolf, gory crime scenes)  It's a very different kind of werewolf movie predominately because of its tone and some unexpected choices,
both of which actually really work in its favour.

The Wolf Of Snow Hollow has a manic quirkiness to it which I really enjoyed, It's paced perfectly and the blend of dark comedy interwoven into the script is balanced really well which is a very difficult thing to achieve in a horror movie. Most of the humour comes from watching John Marshall, an already high strung recovering alcoholic at the very beginning of the film, unravel attempting to catch whoever is causing the murders in the small quiet community of Snow Hollow, a community that seems to really, really hate him.

It's a lot of fun
and I can easily recommend this movie to fans of this sub-genre.
