Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is the only slasher movie to take place on the quintessentially American holiday but is it any good?,
the answer to that is that it's enjoyable but apart from one scene in particular i think its an alright film but nothing special, its a pretty run of the mill slasher with a few great ideas.

It has a very original opening sequence and one of the most inventive kills of the year, which is really drawn out and well put together,
it always plays with the idea that a masked killer could change the mask he's using when dispatching people, making him harder to spot, it's a simple idea but not one you see used.

The plot is much very a retreat of I Know What You Did Last Summer and the overall tone is ripped from Scream, which isn't a bad thing as it was definitely intentional and fit the film they were trying to make. It sits at home nicely among 90's slashers.

The biggest negative i can say about the film is that i didn't really care about any of the characters, the final girl was pretty bland and had nothing unique about her that made her stand out and the film overall is fine enough but nothing more than that.
I think its receiving a lot of praise because its the only slasher movie which takes place on thanksgiving, that said, I am happy that people are still making straight forward slashers like this and i didn't hate my time with it at all but it's not going to make the top of my list this year.
