The Monster Project

The Monster Project may not exactly be high art but its fun enough to spend an evening watching, as long as you know what you're in for. It's a silly found footage B-movie about an amateur filmmaker who enlists his friends to conduct and film interviews with three monsters, a vampire, a skinwalker and a demon.

The movie goes exactly where you expect it to and honestly its quite a bit of fun, dumb fun but fun. The creature effects when practical aren't bad for a film on such a small budget but where it loses it a bit is in its occasional use of CGI which simply does not work and looks ridiculously cheap.

The characters are all one dimensional apart from one who has a little bit of depth but nothing is really done with him but like the rest of the film, they're engaging enough and when there is poor acting its not terrible enough to weigh the movie down completely.

All in all, not a bad film but not exactly a good one either.
