Mad Max: Fury Road.
Let me preface this review by stating that I have never seen any other Mad Max film as of yet, so i don't know how similar or different the world, characters and story are from this soft reboot to the original. Mad Max Fury Road is an insane film, it immediately throws you into a post-apocalyptic wasteland that bares little resemblance to the world we know.
The world building is fantastic, the film doesn't explain any of it, you're left to make up your own mind about the different warring factions, the bizarre rituals and women enslaved for the sole purpose of being milked, ok it sounds a lot weirder when you say it out loud, but bare with me, I love the way you're introduced to this viking-esque dystopian future of monster trucks and metal.
The cinematography in this film is incredible, the orange and red tints used for the daytime scenes on the fury road contrast beautifully with the cold and stark blues of the desert at night. For a film that is largely devoted to action and spectacle, it also devotes enough time to get you to feel invested in its characters.
As a movie it reminded me a lot of DREDD, in that it is a simple story put together extremely well, the entire film is literally one long chase sequence, now that's not to its detriment at all, its a big part of why I enjoyed the film, overall I strongly recommend it, its batshit insane.
