Training Day is by far David Ayer's best film, its so good in fact that I find it hard to believe that the same person who brought us the god awful Suicide Squad made this film. We follow Ethan Hawke as a rookie cop looking to make detective as he is taken under the wing of a corrupt officer played by Denzel Washington. Training Day is a gritty journey into the criminal underworld of downtown LA.
I think its a pretty flawless film, I love that you follow Ethan Hawke's characters journey throughout one single day and night in Los Angeles, but Hawke as the white knight rookie cop and Denzel as the seasoned veteran are perfect in their roles. There's also some surprising cameos from Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Macy Gray.
Its a great crime thriller and I highly recommend you watch it.
