Storm Warning

Storm Warning is pretty much what you expect from a backwoods horror film, its grimy, nasty and has a dark sense of humor, in a few moments at least. The film hits every beat you've come to expect if you've watched the Texas Chainsaw Massacre or The Hills Have Eyes, but that said, It does have a few original ideas of its own.

The plot is simple, a couple turn up at the wrong house, which is owned by the worst people imaginable, they then have to survive the night and try and escape the farm. I got into these films only looking for two things, good villains and good kills. If I like the protagonists even better. Well, two out of three ain't bad I suppose.

The few kills that are in the film are inventive, brutal and original and the villains are solid, the only downside is the acting from our main couple, they're just not very good. Their lines come off as overly cheesy and forced and there is no chemistry between them or any reason for me to care about them, other than their predicament, but that's not enough, I need a bit more than that.

Overall though the film is an enjoyable way to kill a few hours,
it fits nicely along other films within this sub-genre, although it just isn't quite as good as say, Killing Ground or Wolf Creek but it is serviceable enough to enjoy for sure.
